Leiner GmbH was founded in 1839 by the Leiner family and has since developed into a leading company in the field of sun shading solutions.

With a clear focus on quality and innovation, the company began as a small family business and quickly grew through its commitment to excellent customer service and outstanding products. In the decades that followed, Leiner GmbH expanded its product portfolio and modernized its production processes to meet changing market demands. Through continuous investment in research and development, the company was able to achieve numerous milestones and set new standards in the industry.

The begin

Company founded by Johann Michael Leiner as a locksmith’s store in Augsburg.

Start of G. Leiner KG, Gertrud Leiner – new is the production of curtain and lighting strips.

Hansjörg Braun, a relative of the Leiner family, joins the company; eleven years later, his brother Ernst Braun also joins the company.

G. Leiner KG, Gertrud Leiner, starts manufacturing awnings, thus setting the new focus of production.

The company grows and moves into the new company premises in Horgau / Bavaria.

The company is renamed Leiner GmbH & Co. and is owned by the Braun brothers.

Sale of the company to Dr. Ulrich Zwissler / MIRA Wirtschaftsberatung; Helmut Reinelt becomes the new managing director.

Foundation of a production facility in Röblingen / Saxony-Anhalt.

Change of name to LEINER GmbH and complete transfer of the company to Dr. Zwissler Holding AG.

The branch in Röblingen moves to a new building in Farnstädt / Saxony-Anhalt.

Jürgen Schulz becomes the new Managing Director of LEINER GmbH.

Sales launch of the first SUNRAIN awning.

Expansion of the business areas to include the catering and hotel sectors.

LEINER is the market leader in Germany for restaurant shading systems.

Market launch of the product innovation Q.bus®.

Introduction of AREA patio glass system Expansion of the production site in Dinkelscherben.

Foundation of LEINER Oberflächentechnik GmbH for in-house powder coating.

Total transfer of the company to Gibus S.p.A. based in Saccolongo/Padua.
